Terrible

Simply put this app doesnt work. Dont buy it

Terrible

Any video files of decent quality are completely unwatchable. The app stutters and crashes. Useless.

Crashes

When Rey playing an mp3 from my dlna server it crashes...

Looks good but very irritating

Cool skins etc, but it has trouble finding my server and frequently crashes and stops playing video. It needs to fix its problems before I will pay for it.

Best dlna player by far

Bedt dlna for ios by far. Works well on my iphone, very nice interface and background play. I did not get any problem with the app.

Fine if videos already in IOS supported format/resolution

I tried 4 different video formats ( all of which play fine on my PC and on my WD Live Media Plus) using a Mezzmo server. Used the Maria profile. All formats required transcoding and so were not readily playable. The reality is videos must be in IPod/IPad officially supported format to work immediately. My library is mostly not in those formats and transcoding on the fly is too slow.

2 thumbs up!

This app works well and has a great interface and options, also can wirelessly transfer videos into the 8player app from other apps such as downloads lite.

I love the GUI

Updated to the pro version. Am glad I did. Use it every day.

Very disappointed

It never found one of my drives (which had my training videos that I wanted to use) When I finally gave up and moved them, this program forced me to pay $5.99 to ever use it again. I found iMedia player works much better, smother and free

Useless

Wont let me play any files ...asks me to upgrade. No thanks

Unable to find my server

Too bad. Looks like it would have been a good app if it could.

Cant play the most common formats

Decoder not available for most common formats. Uninstalling.

Wont play avi video

Not much to say after that. Description is not accurate. Used to play avi but not anymore. Same on the paid version.

All a lie

This app looked like one of the most promising DLNA apps Ive downloaded to date, then I go to play any one of my m2ts or mkv files and boom I cant play it because they dont have the rights to play.... Well pretty much anything! The only thing you can play is mp4 and .mov . So if you wanna play anything other than those then youll be out of luck! My suggestion is they need to remove the all the file formats they "say" it plays until it plays it.

Getting better

Seems to be the right version, 2.10, play all my avi and mkv files. Please keep it like that, and if you low down the price a bit, Ill buy it.

Love it so Far!

Ive been looking for JUST this kind of simple easy to use app that streams my NAS saved movies, pictures and music. in the 15 min of testing it it played 95% of my media without problems. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is two of my movies had Bad pixillation and intermittent sound. Ive tried apps such as : VLC, PlayerXtreme, Oplayer, MLPlayer, Movie player and more....-ll of these were very disappointing. none of these apps compares to -- 8Player -- 8Player -- 8even the lite version. I will be upgrading to the paid app for sure !

Breaks up constantly

I spent $100 upgrading my wireless network in my house thinking it was my network that was the issue. I have perfect signal in every nick and cranny in my house and this app still constantly has issues streaming a movie off my PC. I downloaded Airplay and everything is perfect. I am now stuck with $100 of equipment I really dont need. My network was fine, the app just doesnt buffer at all, or stream properly.

Freaking awesome!

Im watching hd movies (1080p would be a little bit painful to load) shared on my win8 desktop pc.

WONDEFUL APP!! Must have for plex users

This app is easy to use and works seamlessly with my plex server on a Ubuntu machine! For anyone that wants to watch media on the mobile device, this is the app!

Perfect!

I can stream from my RPI to any device including ipad and iPhone. Thanks!
